Fancy Animals

The Magic Box  is an on-line class that I sighed up for though Oatley Academy

Lesson two:  Fancy Animals

Chris Oatley, our instructor at Oatley Academy assigned us to make a digital painting keeping in mind the color compositions and the atmospheric lights from our fist lesson.
Now we're beging learn how to use the brush  and add textures correctly.

This is my drawing composite based on three pictures:

Playing fetch

My Daily Fix

I've been playing with the idea of illustrating a man whose dog likes to play fetch but can't bear to let go of his stick.
right now I'm debating which composition would works best.

In your opinion, which one tells the story best?

Re-do

An online fellow student, from the Oatley Academy, suggested that I rethink my light source in this illustration, because the light seems to come from a flashlight, which tends to flatten the face.

He had an excellent point, so this is my attempt in correcting the illustration.  At his suggestion, I redirected the light source.  I made it come from the upper middle left side of the "room", and gradually shaded the rest of the face toward the pillow.

Re-do of the image above

In the second set of pictures, I wanted to add a green layer from the re-do but still keep a little bit of pink, and increased the source of shadows in each frames
